It's right in front of you! Part 1

After being in the industry for 12 years I learned one of the biggest lessons that has stayed with me to this day.  Winners know that opportunity is always available. Because winners are consistently looking for an edge, they seldom miss the low hanging fruit that is right in front of us everyday. Here’s the story; years ago I enrolled in a company and like lightning in a bottle I began to achieve the unlimited potential others said I was destined to have. I began to attract the key people who empowered us to go from ‘Good to Great’ in the flash of an eye. I’d never earned a six figure income in anything I’d ever done (because I mentored under some of the best minds in the industry I carried myself like a millionaire because I saw it before it happened, story soon to come).  It felt like life couldn’t have been any better but lessons are often learned along the way and it was my turn to learn a huge one.

The Lesson Part 3 of 3

I picked this story first in this series because there are so many learning points. Here’s how it turned out; first I asked him did he tell his sponsor exactly what he shared with me? He said most of it; I asked why not all of it since you’re this angry? He didn’t answer at first, then he said as he thought about it he realized just how upset he was. My response to him was now you know the next time something like this happens decide early to take a moment before you respond. Your real wisdom tends to kick in after you’ve given yourself a few moments to reflect. Next I asked him; are you sincere about this business?  He asked me why? The Lesson Part 2

At this point I knew we should spend some time together and re-create the entire situation. I asked him if we could meet ASAP and he agreed. I decided to do what networkers do, meet at a coffee shop because of the environment, and it always seems like everyone is doing their own thing, I knew we’d have a level of privacy (although many of the people there are Networkers looking for an opportunity to give a compliment and have a ‘Me-Too’ moment with anyone they can touch). He told me his sponsor told him some things he needed to do to become a better distributor. At that point I asked him what did he mean by becoming a better distributor? Did you ask him right then for clarification? He looked at me, smiled and said I know Mr. T you would have asked him but I didn’t feel it was important at the time because he was beginning to become a know it all and he was pi_ _ing me off!

The Lesson... Part 1

I was home enjoying an audio training someone shared with me and I received a phone call from a young man who is a part of a mentorship group I chair. After exchanging the normal cordialities he began to share a story of his personal frustration with me. I could tell he was upset but I had no idea how frustrated he was until I listened to the tone of his voice. He said Mr. ‘T’, I want to ask you a question, what does It mean when you send your sponsor a message and they don’t respond?  Well I knew it was his frustration talking to me at this point, so I said to him; share with me just what did your sponsor not respond to? He paused, and after a few brief moments he said, “well, I don’t like it when my sponsor critiques everything I’m doing. I mean everything, Mr. T, every single thing and I’m sick of it. First of all he’s my sponsor not my Dad, he also needs to understand that I follow his sponsorship but I mentor with other...
